More about me -
I’m a RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse with over 25 years’ experience working with animals. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside experienced dog trainers and behaviourists, as well as with a wide variety of dog breeds and their owners. This has given me invaluable insight into the powerful bond between dogs and their humans — and how thoughtful, effective training can strengthen that relationship.
It was during my veterinary nursing career that I truly recognised the importance of dog training, not just for behaviour, but for overall wellbeing and quality of life. In my current role as a Qualified Veterinary Nurse at Larkmead Veterinary Group in Cholsey, I run specialised nurse clinics, where my passion for training has continued to grow. Seeing first-hand how early, positive training can help prevent future behavioural issues has reinforced just how vital good foundations are.
To share my knowledge and experience, I now offer small, supportive group classes, with a strong focus on early puppy training, alongside 1-to-1 training sessions and consultations tailored to each dog and household. My training approach is kind, practical and reward-based, designed to fit into real life rather than rely on rigid or outdated methods.
Alongside my formal qualifications, I am committed to ongoing professional development and regularly attend courses, seminars and workshops. My continued education includes training in puppy foundations, learning theory, canine body language, impulse control, recall, loose lead walking, separation anxiety, resource guarding, breed traits and predatory motor patterns, as well as gundog-style training for pet dogs. I have also completed further education in canine nutrition, allowing me to support owners with guidance on healthy lifestyles that contribute to their dog’s long-term wellbeing.
I believe we can’t expect dogs to behave well unless they’ve been taught what’s expected of them. Clear, positive training sets dogs up for success, builds confidence, and helps owners feel supported and empowered. Training should be enjoyable, rewarding and something both you and your dog look forward to.
About Me Outside of Training -
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and my Labrador, Olive. We love being outdoors, going for walks, and spending time with family, friends and other dogs. I have two sons — one who works alongside my husband, and the other who is currently completing his GCSEs and is an avid rower for Pangbourne. Family life, real dogs and real routines are at the heart of everything I do, and this very much shapes my approach to training.
When You Train With Me, You Can Expect -
• Positive, reward-based methods
• Clear guidance and realistic goals
• A strong focus on confidence, connection and understanding
• Training that supports both dogs and their owners
If you’re looking for knowledgeable, supportive training that puts your dog’s wellbeing first, I’d love to help.
