CALM & CONFIDENT
LIFE SKILLS | LEVEL 2
Life Skills – Level 2
This course is perfect for dogs and owners who already have some basic training foundations but want to build greater reliability in the real world.
At this stage, we begin to proof behaviours by adding distractions, increasing distance, and building duration so your dog can respond confidently even when life gets busy around them. The aim is to take the skills you’ve started and turn them into practical, everyday life skills.
What we’ll cover
Sit, Down & Stand
Developing the behaviours you already know, improving responsiveness and beginning to chain behaviours together.
Building a Default Sit
Teaching your dog to offer calm behaviour automatically, while troubleshooting jumping up and managing frustrated greeters.
Loose Lead Walking
If you’ve started but it’s not quite working yet, or you want to refine your skills, we’ll help you build calmer, more focused walking around dogs, people, smells and other distractions.
Wait & Stay with Real Distractions
We build these behaviours in a fun and engaging way, helping your dog develop steadiness, patience and focus in real-life situations.
Long Line Skills
Learning how to use a long line effectively to give your dog freedom while maintaining safe, reliable control.
Mat Work
Teaching your dog to relax and settle both at home and in the real world – whether that’s at a café, the pub, or visiting friends.
Recall
Strengthening your recall so your dog chooses to prioritise you, even when there are exciting real-world temptations.
Plus some fun training games along the way!
This 6-week course is the perfect next step after our Ready & Steady (Life Skills Level 1 course). It consolidates everything you’ve already learned and helps move you closer to the partnership and reliability you want with your dog.
